Generally if you want to export it to another application you would make a JPEG or TIFF which bakes in all the edits. Not sure what additional functionality you expect to get out of Perfect Photo?Īdobe works with the RAW file and just attaches a sidecar file. Perfectly Clear can be bought as a plug-in to Lightroom, so that would be the cleanest way to handle it. In general, I don't mind having an extra large file for images that I'm ultimately going to work with, post and/or print, but do I take a lot of shots that I don't ultimately work with and having to use double or more the current amount of storage for each of them, just in order to take a better look at them or make some small refinements would be a problem for me.Ĭurious as to why you would give up on Elements? If Elements is not enough, then Elements + Lightroom, pretty much does it all, short of having the full CS6 Photoshop.

If I use them in succession, will the edits from one product carry over onto successive edits? To take a worst case perhaps, can I first edit in Paint Shop Pro (to use Perfectly Clear), then come back to the Lightroom editor, and then add final touches with Perfect Photo? And if I can do that, are all the changes contained in a file containing the modifications to the RAW file (is that what a sidecar file is?), or are they preserved by creating additional TIFF files or other large size files? Let's assume that I have all three editors on my machine (Lightroom editor, Perfect Photo and Paint Shop Pro). My questions are about 1) what happens when you use multiple editors on an image, and 2) the extent to which using one or more editors may multiply the number of related files. I currently shoot almost exclusively in RAW. Secifically, I have a copy of Perfect Photo Suite and am considering purchasing Paint Shop Pro (especially for the included version of Perfectly Clear and its low price). After a number of years dealing with increasingly flaky installations of Photoshop Elements, I have finally purchased an installed Lightroom 5 and am now thinking of editing options.
